A tour of these artistic beauties can begin precisely in Stresa, on the Piedmont coast, opposite the Borromean Islands, a true open-air museum. An excursion to the tourist center of Stresa is essential to enjoy the wonderful view of the islands that are just a few steps from the coast, this area has many noble mansions now converted into luxury hotels.

The shore of Lake Stresa is distinguished by its noble hotels and gardens full of flowers and plants of extraordinary beauty, such as the Vila Pallavicino Park. On the west coast of Piemont Lake Maggiore, Arona is another interesting town, a very picturesque village in the province of Novara, overlooking the waters of Verbano, a small village that was the birthplace of Saint Charles Borromeo.
