The island is characterized by wild and steep hills, while the entire coast is bathed by a crystal-clear sea, with beaches and sea caves. The mountain of Gennargentu hides an almost impenetrable area of small rural towns. To the northeast is the Emerald Coast, the most exclusive and popular area of Sardinia. The coastline around the Gulf of Orosei, to the south, is more unspoiled and less touristy. Sard’s main tourist attractions are its maritime and coastal landscape. Emerald Coast offers luxury seaside tourism, with exclusive hotels and tourist ports (Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo).
