The airport was built in 1916 and was formerly a military airport. Since Fiumicino was unable to receive ALL the flights arriving in Roma, Ciampino was authorized to operate as a civilian airport. The airport is not far from the city of Rome, but it is totally out of the way! Today we will teach you how to go from Ciampino Airport to the center of Rome. 1) How to go from Ciampino to the center of Rome? WITH PRIVATE TRANSFER

The best way to save! There are some bus companies that run the Ciampino / Termini section, which is the central train station in Rome, which are:

  • Cotral: it is the company that also takes you to the Ciampino train station, 5 minutes from the Arrivals area. If you prefer, go to the Anagnina metro station, also nearby. The ticket to Termini costs 3.90 euros and the trip also takes approximately 40 minutes
  • Sitbusshuttle: another option that goes straight to Termini. It is possible to buy the ticket online, it costs 4 Euros, and the trip also takes 40 minutes.

Another economical and comfortable option. Take the train at Ciampino Città, which is 5 minutes from the airport; the company responsible for the bus journey is Cotral or the local company Atral. It costs 1 Euro and, from there, take the train to Termini Station. The journey, by train between the two stations takes 15 minutes and the ticket costs 1.50 euros.
