4) Why visit Liguria? GET TO KNOW CINQUE TERRE

As this region offers a rich panorama of opportunities, we will see what you cannot miss. I am referring to the mythical Five Lands (Cinque terre) with Portovenere and the Islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto are the other UNESCO site that boasts to Liguria. Those who visit these places can hardly forget the fascination and atmosphere emanating from the five maritime villages of Manarola, Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso, eighteen kilometers of coastline that come together and form a small terrestrial paradise.

About Cinque Terre

In these small villages, the sea is uncontaminated, the rocks are leaning towards the sea, the colors and perfumes in the Five Lands will make you feel like you are traveling on a living postcard. The Five Lands is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And we have the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto located opposite Portovenere, an old fishing village, with their colorful houses, one next to the other, which mix their colors with the intense blue of the sea, a wonder of nature. These small towns are Monterosso AL Mare, Vernazza, Manartola, Corniglia and Riomaggiore, and each of these hides natural and cultural treasures that are absolutely unmissable. These areas need a few days to be admired, for their totality and all their beauty. If it is not possible to stay for more than 24 hours, I advise you to at least take a walk on the famous “The Street of Love”. The “Blue Trail” is a wonderful way to walk from town to town along the cliffs of the Five Lands.

Manarola and Riomaggiore

The route between Manarola and Riomaggiore is called “the street of love”, one of the most romantic places in the country, a perfect place for a walk with your partner or for a proposal at sunset. The blue trail runs along the coast and covers the entire stretch of Riomaggiore to Monterosso, which takes about 1h30min. The route of love, on the other hand, is the Riomaggiore-Manarola route that can be covered in 20/40 minutes according to speed.

Golden Tip:

Along the way you will find some plaques carved into the rock with the names of great lovers of history or people who sacrificed themselves for love, such as Heros, Penelope and others. It is the ideal place for lovers, for the suggestive route along the sea where the sun rays dance is unmissable. Anywhere you look you will have an exciting view. Even if it is a 5-star hotel or an inn, it will be satisfying for the panorama below you, which from any view makes us appreciate the Five Lands, from the sea to the mountains. And if you can’t find accommodation in Cinque Terre, don’t be afraid, you’ll find it in the nearest cities like Levanto and La Spezia, which are just a short train ride away. It is natural that in addition to these places there are many others, such as Alassio, Santa Margherita Ligure, Sanremo, but these you will only discover by coming here!
