Let’s talk about prices! For the fixed price of 15 euros you consume: antipasto, starter and main course, also wine and coffee made in a traditional coffee maker. The portions are fair, the ingredients fresh and the cuisine authentically Roman. It is not possible to ‘choose the dishes’ thought, because the place works as a bistro and the menu is with what is available in the kitchen on the day. 2) Where to eat well paying little in Rome? CASETTA ROSSA

In Garbatella it has been operating since 2001 and was a political, social and cultural initiative. It commands a public wood oven, where it is possible to make your own bread and it is maintained by a solidarity group and by the customers. It is famous for its excellent dishes and uses organic ingredients to prepare them.

The coolest thing about the place is that the restaurant thinks ‘about the next one’; a starter costs around 7 euros, while a meat dish costs around 12 euros and there is also the ‘pasto sospeso’, something like ‘paid lunch’, which costs at least 5 euros and with the (voluntary) contribution they serve lunch to someone who can’t afford it. Address: Via Giovanni Battista Magnaghi, 14 (Garbatella). You must call to make a reservation at 0689360511 or 3388936500, and speak with Tina. It closes Mondays; Sundays: opens only for lunch.

It is a typical Roman trattoria! Dishes like amatriciana, cacio and pepe, ossobuco among others, are made with homemade spices and much love! The environment is nice and people LOVE this place: tourists and locals! For a starter and a main course you pay 15 euros; if you want the house wine, the bill reaches 18, but it’s worth every penny! Address: Via Casilina, 493 – Closed: Wednesdays; Sundays: opens only for lunch on and works for lunch and dinner on other days of the week.

In activity since 1958 it maintains, essentially, the same menu: the antipasto arrives with bruschetta, a ‘ciriola’ Italian bread), olives and mushrooms; it is possible to be satisfied only with this complete and delicious antipasto, but you can’t resist the other dishes that are coming like the spectacular pizza that costs only 5 euros! Among the best and most economical places in Rome you find the Trattoria Burro e Sugo. It is one of the most modern, both in decoration and modus operandi (accepts online booking and Delivery). The fixed price menu attracts and with 13 euros you eat a simple antipasto, main course or starter, dessert, bread and water. If you prefer the fish, you pay 21 euros and let me tell you: it’s worth it! Considered the Queen of Roman Trattoria! Super awarded is the best in cost-benefit terms in Rome. A complete lunch here costs 20 euros! Address: Via dell’Acquedotto Alessandrino, 172 (Torpignattara). – It is open from Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner; closed on Sundays.

More typical than the city itself, this trattoria is more than economical and the dishes are pure gold! Always crowded, it is necessary to make a reservation.
