St. Mark’s Basilica, unique architectural masterpiece, a mix of East and West. We are talking about the most esoteric of the churches of Catholic worship, perfect union between Eastern and Western culture. Constantinople and its exploits are revived in this Gothic-Romanesque-Byzantine Church, which is long, almost 76.5 meters and wide, almost 63 meters, with five domes, the central one being 43 meters high. Did you realize the greatness of this Church? In addition, its interior is rich in golden Byzantine mosaics. Be sure to see the famous Pala d’Oro (“Golden Pall”), the sacking collection of Constantinople and the icon The Virgin Nicopeia. Find out here Where to find the best aperitif in Venice?

Entry to the Basilica is free, but there is the possibility to book a ticket to enter without having to face lines. I highly recommend making this reservation, as this church is undoubtedly one of the monuments where you can face up to more than an hour in line, so it is worth making the reservation beforehand! The visit of the Basilica lasts approximately 10 minutes. Remember to dress appropriately to enter the church, as necklines, skirts and short shorts are prohibited. I also remember that it is forbidden to make videos and photographs.
