Attractions in Marche

The main points of attraction for cultural tourism are Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Macerata and especially the art city of Urbino. The Marian sanctuary of Loreto is one of the main pilgrimage tourist destinations in Italy. The medieval towns of Urbino and Ascoli Piceno are the region’s main attractions, but the region’s inner hills are famous for their characteristic small towns.

One of the most beautiful is San Leo, with its imposing fortress.
