If you are landing at Linate Airport for the first time, please note that, unlike other airports in the city, Enrico Forlanini di Linate Airport is the nearest stopover in the city and is only seven kilometers from the center of Milan. On this stopover most of the flights of lines operated by airlines that come and go from the main national and international destinations arrive and depart. The traffic of people is very consistent and, despite not having direct connections to the subway and trains, the services offered are able to satisfy the volume of travelers in transit.

Private Transportation with Air Bus

Among these services are some private transport lines (Air Bus) that allow you to decide when and how to get to Milan from Linate airport. The connections offered by these private shuttles cover several routes, including one that runs from Linate Airport to Milan Central Station (and vice versa). The journey time is approximately twenty-five minutes and tickets can also be purchased on board.

  • This type of transport is very economical, but it is only useful when there are few people, 1 or two people, more than that it is advisable to take a taxi or a private transfer.

Disadvantages

  • The end point is usually the central station of Milan, arriving there, you must take another transport to go to the hotel, that is, you lose a little time, and end up spending more, because the taxi in that region is not cheap! It is also tiring to go down and up stairs with suitcases after a long journey.
  • That is why I advise these two alternatives only for those who are not in a hurry and do not have: many bags, small children or elderly people, because if you arrive with a lot of luggage, it will be really “complicated” to take this type of transport.

My advice

  • Generally, international flights allow large luggage (32 kilos), so if you bring luggage like this it will be really crazy to use the transport above, so be realistic, and use this type of transport only if you have a lot of breath, want to save or if you have normal light luggage. If you are with the family I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

3) How to get to the center of Milan from Linate Airport? WITH A TAXI

From two or three people I sincerely advise you to use a taxi or a private driver. There is nothing worse than arriving with many suitcases and spending the most time trying to understand how to get to the city center, then trying to understand how to get to the hotel and, even worse, having to carry several suitcases up stairs, isn’t it? The simplest, the most comfortable, but also the most expensive way is to take one of the many taxis that are at the exit of the airport, and that will take you directly to your destination without the stress of changing means of transport.
