Everything about the OMNIA Vatican

OMNIA Vatican covers attractions from both the Vatican and Rome. Is it worth it? It depends! OMNIA Vatican offers two options: the version valid for 24 hours and the version valid for 72 hours. One of the great advantages is preferential access; it saves you time, even if you take a short line to get in.

The 24-hour version includes:

Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, with preferential access; St. Peter’s Basilica with preferential access (without access to the dome), and audio-guide app in several languages and entrance to the Carcer Tullianum.

The 72-hour version includes:

Free entrance to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, a free audio-guide app to visit St. Peter’s Basilica (without access to the Dome); free entrance to choose from 2 of the 7 main places of interest in Rome, including: the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, the Capitoline Museums, the Borghese Gallery and the Castel Sant’Angelo National Museum. In addition, preferential access to St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel and Colosseum. You can save up to four hours of waiting at each of these locations, especially in high season!

Furthermore, the 72-hour ticket gives you free access to discover Rome with the Open Buses, in the Stop & Go scheme, that is: you can get on and off the bus whenever you want at any point on the route. You also have free access, with unlimited access, to Rome’s public transport network; you receive a detailed guide to the attractions and the city and priority entrance to more than 30 monuments, museums and archaeological sites in Rome. In brief: the kit consists of the OMNIA Vatican & Rome Card, the Roma Pass (which also serves as a Travelcard for public transport), which allows entry to more than 30 sights, a detailed guide and the city map; the kit also contains instructions on how to use it. Important to Know

Roma Pass gives you access to historic monuments, galleries, museums and more. On three consecutive days, you can enter two locations for free and enjoy reduced entry tickets to more than 30 sights. Roma Pass also functions as a Travelcard to use on the urban public transport network. To visit the Colosseum, even with the Roma Pass and / or the OMNIA Pass, a reservation is required, O.K.? Be aware!

Is it worth buying the OMNIA Vatican?

If you organize your time well, yes! But remember that it is VERY important that you plan well what you want to visit, especially if you are traveling during the high season; as we mentioned earlier, even with priority access, there may be lines, which is quite normal – but compared to regular lines, the wait is not absurd.

If you only have 24 hours in Rome, I suggest you to prioritize what you want to visit and, to optimize your time, wake up early and start with the attraction you always wanted to visit, so that you don’t run out of time, O.K.? The OMNIA Card is very worthwhile, because in addition to tourist attractions, the OMNIA Vatican also gives you access to public transport free of charge, that is: you visit the attractions and can use the transport to move between them! How much will I pay for each OMNIA Card?

The 24-hour version costs EUR 55.00;
The 72-hour version costs EUR 113.00.

How do I get my kit?

Well, first, it is good to know that the OMNIA Vaticano & Rome Card starts counting the time for its use after the first validation. Your ticket will be activated when you first enter one of the places on the list of attractions, or when you use the Travelcard on the urban transport network. You can purchase your kit in advance, and – after purchase – you have 12 months to activate the OMNIA Vatican & Rome Card package. To get your kit, you have to go to the point indicated in the email you will receive after purchase ; then, you can start taking advantage of your kit as we taught above.
