Amazing experiences in Italy: where to stay in Venice

I don’t even need to say that Venice is a magical city, don’t you agree? I was recently in this amazing city, and I want to share with you my accommodation experience, which deserves special attention if you are planning to spend a few days in the city. Come with me! Here at Your Travel to Italy with Ana Patricia  you make the trip of your dreams!!! ALSO: see our  “Accommodation in Italy – Tips for your holidays!”.

Our Introduction

Let’s visit Venice! Today I’ll reveal everything about my recent accommodation experience in one of the most fantastic cities in the world: Venice, Veneto. When we think about traveling to another country, it is not always easy to choose the ideal accommodation. That’s because we have no idea what the neighborhood is like or the real distances from the tourist spots, and no matter how much research we do, the fear of having chosen the wrong hotel persists.

Choosing the ideal hosting

Therefore, I always suggest that you stay in places recommended by people who have already been there and can tell you whether or not the place is a good option for accommodation. If you don’t know anyone who can recommend it to you, do a HUGE research! Do a LOT of research before making your decision, always weighing the pros and cons. Remember that it’s possible to find great value for money in hotels close to many tourist attractions. The earlier you make the reservation, the cheaper you’ll pay! Oh, traveling outside of high season can also make a huge difference!

Remember the value for money

A hotel further away is not always recommended, because what you will save with the daily rate at the chosen hotel, you may spend on transport, for example.

My experience in The Home of the Ship Builder

I was in Venice recently, as I said before, and I want to recommend you an incredible accommodation in the most romantic city in Italy: The Home of the Ship Builder.

Fully Equipped

The Home of the Ship Builder is a fully equipped private house in the heart of the historic center of Venice. Managed by the owners, Julia and Giacomo, they keep the place impeccable. Julia is our partner tour guide in Venice, speaks Portuguese, English, and Italian, and can help you organize your trip in the city to make it UNFORGETTABLE! She’s one of the members of the charming Dicas de Veneza, which you can learn more about by clicking here! Back to the house: the house is PERFECT and can accommodate up to 7 people, including children and babies, but it is also a great option for a couple.

Located in a super-residential neighborhood, Castello is just a 15-minute walk from many of Venice’s iconic landmarks, such as Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge.

Good to Know…

I suggest you make your reservation in advance as the place is highly requested! Don’t waste time if you’re interested in staying here, this accommodation is highly sought-after. You can make the reservation via Booking, on this link!

Ideal for couples and families

The house is 95 square meters, spread over three floors. We’ll start on the ground floor, where you’ll find a living room fully integrated with the kitchen. The living room is spacious and comfortable and has a sofa bed, which facilitates the accommodation of a whole family without neglecting the warmth.

The feeling of being at home is something that moves us! The house was recently renovated; it’s beautiful, and the elegant and functional details are amazing! In addition to offering us the delicious feeling of having lived in the city for years, we don’t feel like tourists there; we feel like locals!

In the splendid kitchen, you’ll find all the facilities you need if you want to prepare your meals. The structure has appliances, crockery, cutlery, pans, and a large table that facilitates food preparation and offers a lot of convenience when serving. Oh, there’s also a dishwasher! It’s super convenient.

Golden Tip:

  • For dinner, I suggest you visit a magnificent restaurant located a few steps from The Home of the Ship Builder, which is Trattoria da Jonny. The prices are excellent, and the dishes are WONDERFUL! Check availability for lunch as well, as they will be open for lunch in May 2022.

The rooms

A (beautiful!) handmade staircase made of iron, copper, and brass connects the ground floor to the upper floors; on the first floor, we find an excellent bathroom and a bedroom that looks like it came out of the pages of a home decor magazine: impeccable! With a delightful bed, the room is spacious, and the accommodation there is very comfortable. Going to the third and last floor of the house, we also find a big bathroom and another very spacious bedroom. As we’re in a residential area, the smell of washing clothes on the clothesline of the houses behind us is inebriating!

The location

The area around the house has a spectacular structure and offers restaurants, pizzerias, supermarkets, and wine shops, among other amenities. At the same time, it is close to important tourist spots, and it is at an ideal distance for those who prefer to be further away from the large tourist mass, which can annoy some more demanding tourists.

Easy access is also very important

Coming from Venice’s main station, Santa Lucia or Piazzale Roma, you get off directly at the Arsenal stop. This is where you’ll find the Vaporetto Arsenale stop, and from there, you’re just an 8-minute walk from the house.

TIP:
  • You can also use the water taxi and get off at the same stop. If you prefer, go by transfer; it’s comfortable, safe, and fast.
  • This service, like any private service, is more expensive, but it makes up for it in terms of comfort, mainly because you won’t waste so much time figuring out how to get to your hotel. Transfer Venice – Click here to learn more!
